WHO WE ARE?

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff's Food Positive initiative is a community-focused program designed to empower local individuals and organizations in addressing food insecurity and promoting healthier lifestyles, particularly in food deserts. Through strategic guidance and resources, Food Positive helps participants identify and secure grants, implement sustainable projects such as community gardens and cooking classes, and incorporate evidence-based nutritional strategies.

WHAT WE DO

The initiative emphasizes practical solutions like leveraging USDA resources for culturally relevant, healthy recipes and involving families in the process to ensure long-term impact. By fostering partnerships, providing tools like surveys for tracking progress, and offering ongoing support, Food Positive enables communities to expand their services, improve access to nutritious food, and create a foundation for better health outcomes. This initiative is a catalyst for grassroots change, encouraging collaboration and resilience in combating food insecurity.
